Good morning and welcome to Corvostudio News.
I’m Marco and here's some news about Easy Red 2 development.
We are still working on Inventory System. We are currently choosing fonts and layout to offer a good menu experience playing both with mouse and gamepads.
In the next 2 weeks we will be writing some AI logic. We already worked on an improved version of our pathfinding algorithms to allow much more concurrent units during battles. We will show the results soon.
Also respawn will be much more squad-oriented, making very important to follow squad orders. Tanks will also cooperate with infantry to protect each other.
remember that all the following images are just concepts and that the game is still in a very early stage.

Improved cities
With a new philosophy of city modeling we are trying to build up cities with nice interiors, realistic houses placement, and accurate building style.
We are working on a runtime furniture spawner to create much more interesting building interiors, with a some random placements to have variation. At the moment our cities with all the LOD systems has an usage of around 300.000 vertices in the game, allowing us to allocate our resources to other components of the game.
Grass and vegetation
We are working on new ways using instancing and distance billboards to render an high quality grass without using too many resources.
Unfortunately we haven't yet implemented it, so all the newsletter screenshots are still showing a pretty bad grass.
We can say the same for the ground shader.
However vegetation quality, colours and placements are god enough to show what you can expect from a forrest environment.
We can't wait to bring more screenshots and videos soon
As soon as we will have something to show, we will make a Teaser and some presentation videos.
In later phases of game production we will also consider releasing a free demo showing how the game is progressing.
