I’m Marco and here's some more news about Easy Red 2 development.
Last week we have been working on character models, cities details and Artificial Intelligence.
Character Models
Finally, here's some uniforms and characters.
There are quite evident improvements from first chapter of the game.
Clothing system will be revisited but will still have the same principles:
Every units will be able to wear an Uniform, an Helmet and a Vest (or gears).
Camuflage will depend on soldier's clothing in this chapter, and clothing will still have properties like bullet protection.
AI improvements
We wrote a "pathfinding" algorithm from scratch. Pathfinding algorithms are procesures used to make AIs able to move inside environments. We achieved a very nice result: AIs will be able to caclulate pretty decent movements set in a very small amount of time. This will solve many of the "strange AI behaviour" problems that Easy Red 1 had..
Also respawn will be much more squad-oriented, making very important to follow squad orders. Tanks will also cooperate with infantry to protect each other.
remember that all the following images are just concepts and that the game is still in a very early stage.
Cities and Building
We are still working in cities and buildings, but we currently got some decent results. Buildings will have their own interiors with fortinures and details. Most of the doors and windows will be interactable.
